Julie Nanson, M.Sc.H., B.A. , Psych.
Julie Nanson is the Executive Director at the Central Alberta FASD Society. Julie is responsible for overseeing the administration, operations, programming and strategic planning of the organization. Other responsibilities include financial planning and management, marketing, and community outreach and development. Julie has worked in the fields of addiction, mental health and disability for the past 24 years as a certified counsellor, educator and senior manager. She has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Manitoba Health – Leading Change Program, collaborating with senior level regional health and government leaders, to inform evidence-based changes to the Manitoba Healthcare system. Julie has led teams of up to four hundred employees and volunteers in the advancement of organization and program development, achieved through evidence-based research practices and evaluation techniques, resulting in high quality client care. Julie strongly supports a person centered approach to working with clients living with FASD, and their care partners. She believes in providing individuals with choice, respect, honesty and quality care throughout the lifespan.

Chris has lived in the West Country for 19 years and feels very privileged to be a part of FASD Central. She has worked with diverse populations in the human service and health care fields for over 10 years and is very passionate about learning from and advocating for people with FASD and those who love and support them. Chris is passionate about connecting with broad circles and networks to talk about how we can all benefit from learning and sharing together and to create spaces in our communities that are welcoming, inclusive, and safe for everyone.

Allyssa joined FASD Central in May of 2018 and is a registered Social Worker. She has an insatiable appetite for continuous learning and opportunities for personal growth. Allyssa has siblings affected by FASD, which drives her passion for serving the FASD community, seeking leading knowledge and sharing her learning with her community.

Vicki has worked with FASD Central since January of 2014 in a variety of roles, settling into the Clinic Coordinator position in April 2018. She has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Calgary and her work experience includes outreach, coaching, group facilitation, and multiple coordination positions. Vicki’s passion is people; building relationships, creating connections, and inviting people to smile – or even laugh – as much as possible. She enjoys running, dabbles in yoga, and finds a great deal of peace in finishing a Sudoku puzzle without cheating.
