THINK GLOBAL, ACT LOCAL: WE DO BETTER TOGETHER
FASD Central is one of 12 Service Networks in Alberta offering community-based, cost-free services to persons living with FASD and their caregivers. This system-wide FASD Network model has made Alberta a leader in service delivery, both in Canada and internationally. Each of the Networks are comprised of a collective of community agencies and organizations that provide FASD-related supports and services.
COLLABORATION: CREATING LOCAL RESILIENCE
At FASD Central, we believe that collaboration is an effective and essential approach to affect change for the social good across multiple and interacting systems. Here’s how we roll that out in our region:
Educate & Prevent
FASD prevention and awareness is a shared responsibility. Our vision is a world without FASD: encouraging all to be leaders in prevention and champions of support for those living with FASD.
Identify & Diagnose
There is no one size fits all solution for FASD. Diagnosis allows for a relevant response to individual needs: paving the way to systems-wide and people-centered services and supports.
Outreach & Support
Local solutions for a global problem. Our approach to FASD outreach and support is local, coordinated and community based: building resilience, raising aspirations and improving lives.
LOCAL APPROACHES: CO-CREATING SAFE SPACES & BUILDING COMMUNITY
The Circle Series:: Circle of Support & Arts builds on already established and successful concepts of building an effective and safe community of support for persons living with FASD. A bold vision, the Circle Series is a unique fusion of peacemaking circle, restorative practice and arts for social change.
